Park, Parade, Play and Praise

Those are a few of our favorite things!

The weather has been beautiful and we were determined to take full advantage of it. That we did!

On Friday, Ollie, Lesley, Row, Mom and myself met at Dream Park for a little fun. It's so nice that Row and Ollie get along so well (for the most part). They LOVE to play together and it cracks me up to watch them. Ollie is the bossy mean one but Row, being that he weighs as much as she does, can hold his own. 

 Here is a perfect example of the difference between and girl and boy- 

As you see, Ollie is carefully examining the caterpillar with a twig. Row observes. Shortly after this picture was taken, Row picked it up (with his fingers) and threw it on the ground. Boys! ;)

Ollie learned to hang on the monkey bars. These were a little high, but once she found something she could reach, I couldn't get her to stop "hanging". She was so proud. Pretty good for a girl!

 Row was a little hesitant of coming down the tunnel slide. He prefers to slide on his belly and eventually worked his way down, very slowly. Don't let this fool you, the kid is scared of nothing!

 Saturday morning our church's annual Easter egg hunt was held. In the past we have hunted eggs on Palm Sunday but this year things were done a little different. 

 Following tradition, the kiddos hunted eggs at Springdale. I'm not sure how many eggs were hidden but it had to be close to the thousands! That or Ollie Pearl rocks the egg hunt ;)!

 This picture was taken before the hunt (was suppose) to begin. As you can see, both Ollie and Sylie (Ollie's BFF) had eggs in their baskets! Too funny! They were both saying cheese just not looking at the camera.

 Not only did we hunt eggs and enjoy a picnic, but what's Easter without a parade?! We all decorated our kid's favorite riding toy and did a loop of Veteran's Memorial Park.

 Saturday afternoon was family time! 

We headed up to my parent's house to spend some time on beautiful Gantt Lake.

Catch Up!!

I have not posted since December....sorry!

We've been a busy little family! 

Since my last post.....

Alabama won a Championship. 

I really couldn't care less about Alabama Football (War Eagle) but New Orleans was fun!!

 Ollie is now a "movie star", or so she says! . 

I am in my second semester of Esthetics school. During Spring Break, Ollie and I joined John (while he worked) in Pensacola.

We enjoyed spending 2 days at the pool, 

and hanging out with Sister Leanne who is currently living in P'Cola.

 I also ran in my first 1/2 marathon. Courtney and I have been training (and stressing) over this for months! We ran in the Seaside Half Marathon. It was awesome! The route was along beautiful 30A. We succeeded in finishing (and not coming in last).

 John and I planted a garden. We have been trying to become more "organic" and this was a must! In a few short months, we will be enjoying fresh vegetables like tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, bell, banana and jalapeno peppers, corn, sweet potatoes and pole beans. Yay!!

This year I co-hosted, along with host, Katie King, Red Garter Review. It was a success! 

I took Ollie to the dance practice.....she thought she should be part! I couldn't get the girl offstage. I do believe I've got a little performer on my hands

Christmas War

This year's Christmas celebration was a war.....A marshmallow war!

To add to the festivities, I made everyone a PVC marshmallow shooter.

These little launchers can pack a punch with a mini marshmallow.

John was a little "ganged" up on. At one point he was even using Ollie as his shield.

Dad even got in on the action. We laughed so hard my stomach was aching.

Thats Mitch's head....he had 2 guns! Row walked around, oblivious to the war, picking up the marshmallows and eating them.

Looks like we have a new tradition!

The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer.....

Is by having a party and dressing up in your tackiest attire!

Last weekend was our 4th annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Party. It was a blast, as always!

This year it was held at the Power Plant in downtown Andalusia. We found this to be an awesome location (with the exception of a plumbing problem) and hope to have it here in the years to come.

Our wonderful friend, Will (pictured with his super sweet fiance', Julie) was the DJ for this year's event and did a fabulous job!



He even prompted a few "dance offs".

It's always fun to see the sweaters that are worn.

Our group has quite the collection of sweaters and swaps them out each year.

Everyone Loves A Parade

A few weeks ago Andalusia High School celebrated Homecoming. This time of year is always exciting for me. I love fall! Football, cooler weather, leaves changing color (not to big on the falling part-mess!), fires, sweatshirts, chili, and the list goes on!

The best part about Homecoming is the parade, short as it may be, OP loves it!

This year Row joined us.

We loaded the kiddos up in the wagon and headed the long trek to E3N St (maybe 100 steps ;).

Baby sister, Lesley, celebrated her 10 year reunion. That's her cute self right above the "of ".

I believe they had a great time!!

Ollie wore her cheerleader outfit and cheered and waved to everyone that came by. To this day, she still talks about the band.

Bubs, aka Jeffery, joined us and helped out with our little big guy..Row. He's a hand full!

I am so happy to share these moments with Ollie.

Hopefully, she will be a 3rd generation AHS graduate.
